James Bond’s swimming trunks fetch £44,450

It is a memorable moment.

Daniel Craig assumed the mantle of the iconic spy James Bond in the 2006 classic Casino Royale, by emerging from the sea in a set of fetching swimming trunks.

And now the trunks have gone under the hammer as part of auctioneer Christie’s celebration of 50 years of 007. The auction was held last Friday ( (October 5). The films began in 1962 with Dr No.

They fetched almost £45,000, which will go to charities including Unicef UK and Childline.

There were 50 items in the sale, including the Aston Martin DBS which featured in Quantum Of Solace. It went for £241,250.
